Following widespread rain in southern Western Australia, there may be water on the road, flooded culverts, and soft edges.  Unsealed roads may be slippery or closed.

The majority of cautions hereunder are now cleared

 

Great Northern Highway, various locations from Batty Bog to New Norcia CAUTION due to water over road

 

Great Northern Highway from Bindi Bindi Bend to Walebing CAUTION due to water over road

CAUTION on the Great Eastern Highway from Tammin to Southern Cross  due to water over road

 

CAUTION on the Goomalling-Merredin Road at various locations due to water over road.

 

CAUTION on the Midlands Road and Wubin Mullewa Road around the Midlands area as there is water over the road.

 

CAUTION on North West Coastal Highway approximately 30 kilometres north of Overlander Roadhouse as there is still water near the road.

 

CAUTION on Great Northern Highway and Geraldton Mount Magnet Road within the Mount Magnet area as there is water over the road.

 

CAUTION on Great Northern Highway Payne's Find to Wubin (Ninghan area) as there is water over the road
 

Carnarvon-Mullewa Road closed to vehicles over 3 tonne, open with CAUTION to light traffic. 

 

Hyden-Norseman Road between Lake Johnston and Forrestania Cross Roads is CLOSED

Nanutarra Munjina Road was closed to cars and trucks from intersection with Paraburdoo Tom Price Road and Youngaleena Community.  OPEN to all traffic now

Wintry conditions in Tasmania have resulted in many roads being affected by snow and ice.  Some roads are closed and others are subject to cautions.  This has affected roads across the island state, including the mountainous centre, the west and the east.
 
Closures and restrictions morning 6th August 2015
 
Despite slightly milder conditions than yesterday, motorists should still use extreme care when travelling today, as many roads are covered with black ice.

6th August 2015

The Town of Port Hedland has opened up the racecourse for free camping to assist caravanning and motorhoming travellers looking for short stay accommodation to stay and enjoy Port Hedland’s hospitality for up to three days.  Entry to the racecourse via McGregor Street, directly opposite the council civic centre.

 

This free camping ground is pet friendly has a new grey and black water dump point, is located 500 metres from the local shopping centre and is just a few kilometres from the Visitor Centre.

From the parking area below, there is a good view of the long iron ore trains coming in.  It is also adjacent to the salt ponds and piles, and in the above photo one of many road trains is carting salt out to load onto ships at the wharf.

Free Camping in Port Hedland

Lucky Bay campground and day use areas
 
The Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) advice that the Lucky Bay Campground and day use area will be closed for redevelopment from 15th July until 31st October 2015. This will include access onto the beach and coastal walk trails. Parks and Wildlife apologies for any inconvenience and advises that all other sites within Cape Le Grand National Park will remain open, including Le Grand Campground.
 
7th July 2015
Gunlom plunge pool has been temporarily closed for swimming after the park received reports of a crocodile sighting in the area. Re-opened 31st July 2015
 
Visitors to the park are advised to stay vigilant around waterways and always keep a safe distance to the water’s edge.

29th July 2015
With more snowfalls in New South Wales and ACT, expect road closures and cautions.  At present there is a CAUTION  for the Great Western Highway between Bathurst to Lithgow as well as the Upper Blue Mountains due to heavy snow and black ice.
 
12th August 2015
Now OPEN 24th August 2015
 
The walk to the top pool at Gunlom in Kakadu National Park is currently closed as a precaution due to a bushfire in the area.  The campground and lower pool remains open.
 
19th August 2015 
More rain has resulted in unsealed road closures once again.
 
3rd September 2015
 
Flooding in South Eastern New South Wales is affecting and/or closing many roads.
 
26th August 2015
 
Western New South Wales has had rainfall overnight and most unsealed roads are CLOSED.  The Silver City Highway between Broken Hill and Warri Gate via Packsaddle and Tibooburra is CLOSED. The Cobb Highway between Wilcannia and Ivanhoe is CLOSED.
 
In South Eastern New South Wales, some roads are affected by snow falls or flooding, with Rouse Road in Rouse Hill CLOSED due to flooding at the causeway.  Snowfalls have closed roads in the Koscuiszko area.
 
24th August 2015
UPDATE:  The fire is now under control and the Albany Highway is OPEN with speed restrictions.
 
Earlier report now superceded:
 
Albany Highway Western Australia CLOSED between North Bannister Wandering Road and Jarrahdale Road due to an out of control bushfire. 
 
The are no detours, so those planning to travel on the section will need to take and alternative highway. 
 
This section of the highway may remain closed for at least two days.
 
10th September 2015
Road CLOSED Nubeena Tasmania
 
This affects residents rather than tourists.  A landslip has occurred on the Nubeena Back Road at Nubeena. The Council have closed the road from 161 Nubeena Back Road to 457 Nubeena Back Road until further notice.
