First stop in a town for us is usually the Visitor Information Centre. We can get first hand information about what to see in
the town and area; particularly things that are not in the major tourist brochures, find out about where to camp and where to find
businesses that we may need. They usually have big rig parking bays nearby, often have nice clean restrooms, and sometimes allow
water fills or can otherwise advise where to obtain water. Some even have hot showers. If you are travelling with young
children, you can collect lots of pictorial brochures to keep up their interest.
In addition to towns with accredited
Visitor Centres, most small towns will have an information centre even if it is within the Shire Offices, a Community Resource
Centre or even a shop or roadhouse may take on that role.
In addition to the best on line resources to find Visitor Centres in each town, I have included some hereunder with details of address, phone and email contacts and websites, where known.
