Main Campground.  In the fascinating Mungo National Park, 104 kilometres north of Mildura.  There are several smaller campgrounds and picnic area, similarly serviced.  Pit toilets, water tank, picnic tables and fireplaces.  Bins, including recycling bins.  Semi enclosed picnic shelter with coin gas barbecue.  $5 per person per night honesty box fees.  National Park entry fee applies to Mungo National Park # - see Daily Entry Fees.  Pay at park visitor centre 2.5 kilometres away if you don't have a seasonal pass.  Hot showers free at visitor centre.  A short walk from Main Campground to Mungo Lake lookout, overlooking what used to be an ancient Lake system.  Loop drive from visitor centre to access lunette.  This is an ancient crescent shaped sand dune in which the oldest human remains outside of Africa were found, and the oldest in the world that have been buried ceremoniously showing some form of culture.  Historical points from when the area was run as a station. 

South West New South Wales

 

Yang Yang Reserve near Maude (48 kilometres west of Hay) on the north side Murrumbidgee River.  No amenities, on a track running alongside the River.  There are numerous places to access and camp along the Murrumbidgee between Wagga Wagga and Balranald on either side of the River.    

Bottle Bend Reserve on the Murray River.  Two kilometres from the Sturt Highway on a dirt road.  No amenities.  Skip bin for rubbish at the bend.  Turnoff is 55 kilometres north west of Euston, and sixteen kilometres south east of Gol Gol near Mildura.  A large area with plenty of tracks to find a quiet spot.  A pleasant overnight stop, although some campers were staying for much longer.  Dump point and water at Shire Depot in Mildura.

North West New South Wales

 

Gum Bend Lake, Condobolin 
Gum Bend Lake is a popular campground just west of Condobolin.  Campground is adjacent to a manmade recreational lake which holds seasonal water for recreation and wildlife.  Picnic areas and shelters, some with barbecues, partially around the lake.  It is three kilometres to walk around the lake via the bank surrounding it.  An island in the lake is used by birds as a breeding area.  Boat launching area, small pontoon jetty, and a children's playground.  Flat camping area with some shady trees.  Flushing toilets.  Hot showers, with one which could be used for wheelchair access.  Disability access toilet with basin.  14 day limit.  Donation box at amenities block and two further donations boxes in campground. Pets permitted.  Dump point is in town.  Stayed 2017

Brewarrina - Four Mile Reserve

Six kilometres south east of the town, via Arthur Hal VC Way (signed to Nyngan) and Tarrion Yarrawin Road (signed to Carinda plus blue camping sign).  Turn towards Barwon River where there is another blue Camping sign.   A short track leads to a parking area on a wide bend of the Barwon River with jetty and boat ramp, basic toilets and a cold shower.  A track heads east along the river to camping sites amongst shady trees near the river.  Track goes for some way along river, but becomes rougher.  Dump point in town, near the weir and Aboriginal fish traps which are said to be amongst the oldest manmade structures on Earth.   Stayed 2017
