Roads recently CLOSED in Queensland - check before travelling
Organisers of the Birdsville Big Red Bash on the 4th to 6th July 2016 are confident that road conditions will allow everyone to get
to the event. The Venue has been changed from Big Red to Birdsville.
Victoria: Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall/damaging winds for parts of eastern Victoria
Severe weather has brought heavy rainfall to parts of Gippsland and eastern Victoria. There is flooded and homes have been damaged.
Numerous roads have been flooded in eastern Victoria.
Update 8th July 2016. With waters receding, there are

Western Queensland, there are still a number of unsealed roads remaining closed.

west and wheatbelt over the past few days, CAUTION when driving to watch for water on the roads.
The Tanami and Duncan
Roads have been RE-OPENED 15th July 2016 with caution following rainfall.
Gibb River Road CAUTION between
Imintji and Mount Barnett wet and slippery surface due to recent unseasonal rainfall. No tonnage restrictions in place.
Recent
rain has caused road closures and cautions due to water on the and the Nanutarra-Munjina Road. Currently the Nanutarra-Munjina
Road from Paraburdoo-Tom Price Road to Bingarn Road–Tom Price is now OPEN with caution. From Bingarn Road to Auski Roadhouse
is closed to light traffic and open to 4WD and trucks only.
The Goldfields Highway between Wiluna and Meekatharra is now OPEN.
The Sandstone Meekatharra Road is now OPEN with CAUTION.

Snow falls have closed a number of roads and storms have left trees down. Main roads includes are:

Avenue and Summerleas Road are now CLOSED due to heavy snow.
Mount Wellington can not be accessed from any direction.

Mersey Main Road, Latrobe (from Frogmore Road). CLOSED due to flooding

Many roads remain closed due to loss of or
bridge damage from the storms during June.

Major flood warning for Huon River. CAUTION. There is a large amount of water flowing over the Huon Highway in Huonville
near the Caltex Service Station.
Update: Bridge is now open to all traffic. The Huonville Bridge is now open to ONLY high
clearance 4WD, buses and trucks. Any other vehicles wishing to travel North over the Huonville Bridge are advised to delay their travel.
