These pages will feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified.  If you are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
 
Information given for each species will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and the areas it occurs in.  Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

Oxalis perennans Native Oxalis, wood sorrell
Yellow, five petals on low growing cloverleaf like foliage with three semi divided sections, with a fringe of hairiness around the edges
Late winter, Spring
Bridgetown, South West Region, Western Australia, found from Shark Bay to Eucla and areas to the southwest of this line, with reported specimens from locations further inland, inlcuding near Newman and Wiluna

Orianthera serpyllifolia subsp. angustifolia (formerly Logania serpyllifolia subsp. angustifolia)
Tiny white five petalled flowers on a low growing plant.  There is a centre stamen and five white pointed stamens facing out between the petals

Bridgetown, South West region, Western Australia, and found through the South West and the south coastal strip to Esperance

Orianthera serpyllifolia (formerly Logania serpyllifolia) at left
Tiny white five petalled flowers on a low growing plant.  There is a centre stamen and five white pointed stamens facing out between the petals.  This plant was from a coastal area and the foliage appears slightly succulent
Seen in March
Augusta, South West region, Western Australia, and found in the South West corner of the state from Perth to Albany and along the south coastal strip to Esperance

Orthrosanthus laxus, Morning Iris
One of several Orthrosanthus species known as Morning Iris. 
Blue/mauve six petaled flowers of medium size, from a cluster of strappy leaves.  Three yellow stamens.

Boyup Brook in the South West, and can be found south west of a line between Kalbarri and Bremer Bay, in the Mid West, Wheatbelt, South West and Great Southern Regions.
