The information to be included in this section has been in the main resourced from outside sources, including Shire Councils and Visitor Information Centres.  It is shown as provided by these and other sources.  Changes may occur from time to time and although I will endeavour to keep up to date information in this section, it may not always be current or accurate.   This section is growing as more regions are researched.  A town may not be listed because that area may not have as yet been researched, it may have nothing to meet the criteria for following lists or it may be due to difficulties in obtaining information for that town or region.  Camping lists are not intended to supersede other listings and publications, which are more comprehensive, but are seeking to highlight towns and areas which have gone out of their way to encourage the mobile tourist by provision of services, which may include low cost camping, dump points, showers, fresh water supplies and/or dedicated parking for large rigs.  These towns and Shires want us to visits and deserve our support.

CMCA Dump Point listings full details are now available to members only. 

 

Wiki Camps app for iPhone and Android also has a Dump Points section and with public input, this is becoming the most comprehenisve directory availalble. 

 

For those without internet while travelling Camps Australia Wide (free and low cost campsite publications) also have dump point listings, and these show which are available to the public and which are for caravan park customers only.

 

Some public dump points have been provided in conjunction with KEA campers and CMCA and in most cases these have public access for no charge, but some may be locked or not open all hours. 

 

You will find other dump points not listed in all the above resources as their installation is increasing. 

 

Where Councils have advised that a dump point is in their plans, this has been shown as such in the following lists, with the expectation that they will be implemented within a year or two.   

 

If you know ahead of time where to find dump points you can better manage the timing of when you empty.    

 

The following listed dump points are available to be used free or at low cost, and many of these will be included in some of the above lists.  Those in caravan parks where a higher fee, sometimes almost as much as an overnight fee is charged will not be listed here, although they may be listed on the above websites.  Some caravan parks allow the public to use their dump points without any fees or for the low fee of $3 - $5.  If you find any of these dump points which I have listed charging more than a few dollars, please let me know.  Most dump points are suitable for emptying cassettes whereas only some are suitable for direct hose emptying as from some buses; this may or may not be noted in websites and publications.

Ashford - Dump point at Council Caravan Park

Baradine - Camp Cypress, Lachlan Street Baradine – fee charged for non guests

Batemans Bay - Corrigan’s Beach Reserve, Beach Road, Batemans Bay, no charge

Bathurst - Council Depot, Morrisset Street, Bathurst. Open during business hours, no charge.

Cootamundra - Dump point at Apex Park, Sutton Street Cootamundra

Delungra - Dump point at Showgrounds

Deniliquin - Public Dump Point with tap in parking bay on Davidson Street; adequate room to park

Forbes - A free dump point at Forbes Shire Council’s Sewer Treatment Works, located off the Newell Highway heading south from the CBD. Look for the sign near the Ben Hall Roadhouse, open between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. There is also another dump point at the Lions Park which runs along Lake Forbes next to the toilet blocks, open 6 am – 10 pm.

Forster - Forster Beach Caravan Park, no charge

Gloucester - Gloucester Holiday Park public access dump point. Phone 02 65581720

Goulburn -Governors Hill Caravan Park – 77 Sydney Road Goulburn, free for public and guests. Goulburn South Caravan Park – 149 Hume Highway Goulburn, $5 fee for non guests.

Grenfell - Railway Station, West Street, Grenfell

Griffith - The Willows - Kookora Street (Entry via Walla orGriffin Avenue) no fee.

Gulgong Dump Point, Station Street, opposite Shire Council

Gunnedah – At the showgrounds on Oxley Highway (South Street) – just inside main gate and to the left.

Henty - Bartsch Avenue Henty, (just off Olympic Way)

Hay - Next to Council depot, near showgrounds, Showground Road - no charge

Holbrook – Holbrook Motor Village, Bardell Street Holbrook

Howlong  - Recreational Reserve (near northern end goal posts), Howlong; key at Trading Post 150 Hawkins Street

Inverell - Dump point at Showgrounds, Tingha Road, Inverell

Jerilderie - Dump Point located in parking area at 19 Jerilderie Street, adjacent to Jerilderie Lake.

Junee - Dump Point with tap, Willow Park, Park Lane, Junee

Khancoban  – Dump point Scott Street, no charge

Kiama - Kendalls Beach Holiday Park, Bonaira Street, Kiama allow the public use of their dump point at no charge

Nyngan – Dump point at Flood Memorial Park, adjacent to Mid-State Shearing Shed, Mitchell Highway, Nyngan.

Parkes – Public can access dump point at the Council run Spicer Caravan Park. A public dump point has recently been installed at Kelly Reserve, accessed from the Newell Highway on the north side of the town.  

Seal Rocks – Opposite Seal Rocks Camping Reserve

Stuart Town (south of Wellington) - Dump point at Mookerawa Waters Park, no charge. 

Taree - Public Dump Point in Taree Rotary Park, Manning River Drive, Taree North (west of Manning Valley Visitor Information Centre). 

Temora - Dump point on Airport road about 500 metres past Tenefts Street heading north west along Airport Road. Free, with hose and water provided for washdown.

Tenterfield – Showgrounds, Manners Street

Tottenham  - The State centre caravan park – Tullamore Road Tottenham phone 02 68924126 Free

Tumbarumba – Dump point Cape Street, no charge

Uralla - Located at the Country Road Caravan Park, New England Highway, Uralla. Available to the public, please see proprietor before use.

Urunga Dump Point, 77 Morgo Street, Urunga. Tap at site. 

Wagga Wagga - Showgrounds, Corner Bourke and Urana Streets, Wagga Wagga, charges apply, phone: 02 69252180. Wilks Park, off Hampden Avenue, Wagga Wagga at free campground by the river. 

Walgett - Primitive Camping Ground – Alex Trevallion Park,Castlereagh Highway Walgett

Albany - Public dump points; one near Brig Amity on Princess Royal Drive and another on Albany Highway near information board.

Beacon - Opposite the Beacon Co-op building in Lucas Street (main road through town).

Bindoon - 6180 Great Northern Highway Bindoon, adjacent to public toilets

Boulder – 10 Hamilton Street Boulder, free

Boyup Brook – Public Dump point at Flax Mill Caravan Park, Jackson Street.  This is separate to caravan park dump point. 

Bridgetown - Dump point at caravan parking area, civic square, Bridgetown. 

Bruce Rock - Shire Caravan Park, Dunstall Street. No charge for public use. 

Brunswick Junction – at recreation ground; obtain key from Supermarket.

Busselton – Behind Churchill Park Hall and adjacent to Kookaburra Caravan Park Number 2, phone 9781 0444 (all hours) for a keypad code. 

Cervantes - Shire of Dandaragan.  Limited hours.  Fee $3

Corrigin – Dump Point Walton Street (near public toilets and bus stop) parking nearby

Cue – Dump point at caravan park, no charge

Denmark - at Peaceful Bay – No charge

Dongara/Port Denison – Dump Point at Town Oval on Waldeck Street, Dongara. 

Donnybrook – At Donnybrook Transit Park (contact BP roadhouse on South West Highway)

Dowerin - At Minnivale – within the former townsite approximately 21 kilometres north east of Dowerin

Esperance – Dump point Sheldon Road (Norseman Road end) to the north of the CBD, Esperance - free.

Geraldton-Greenough region – available at Coronation Beach camp ground 34 kilometres north of Geraldton, the low cost camp ground at Ellendale Pool and the Fig Tree Crossing 48 hour rest area.

Gingin Shire - Moore River Rest Area on the Indian Ocean Drive (old section) near Sovereign Hill

Jurien Bay – Dump point at information bay at entrance to Sandy Cape.

Kalbarri - Corner Grey and Clotworthy Streets.

Karratha - Dump points at the Cleaverville and 40 Mile Beach campgrounds (open in peak season only), and at the Mains Roads Robe River Rest Area  

Kalgoorlie-Boulder –Forest Street Kalgoorlie, also Hamilton Street Boulder. Both free for public use

Kojonup - Gordon Street at the Old Railway Station site.  Locked; key available at Kojonup Visitor Centre, 143 Albany Highway, Kojonup 9am to 5pm. After hours telephone 08 98311777.  No charge

Kookynie (Shire of Menzies) - Niagara Dam, Kookynie Road, Kookynie (68 kilometres east of town). 

Kulin - Dump point located next to public toilets (and skate park) on Johnston Street.  Not locked

Leonora – Information Bay Rest Area one kilometres south of Leonora, west side of Goldfields Highway (Tower Street) approximately 400 metres north of eh r Street turnoff to Gwalia.  Also Niagara Dam near Kookynie, to the south of Leonora.

Margaret River – Dump point installedWallcliffe Road, Margaret River, office hours only.  See full details.

Menzies - Menzies Caravan Park, Shenton Street, Menzies. Lake Ballard, Sandstone Road, Menzies (51 kilometres west of town).  Niagara Dam, Kookynie Road, Kookynie (68 kilometres east of Kookynie). 

Moora - Roberts Street Moora (car park opposite IGA)

Mount Barker - Visitor Centre, Old Railway Station, Mount Barker; free

Mullewa – Public Dump Point at Mullewa Caravan Park, Main Road, Mullewa; no charge.

Narrogin - Dump Point at Corner Park and Fairway Streets Narrogin

Norseman –Welcome Park which is adjacent to the Visitors Centre, Norseman.  Free for members of CMCA, $3 charge for others.  Key obtained from Visitor Centre.

North West Coastal Highway – Main Roads 24 hour Rest Area at Galena Bridge, 65 kilometres north of Northampton and thirteen kilometres north of the Kalbarri turnoff - see details of this rest area here.  Visit Main Roads Rest Areas for further Main Roads managed dump points on this highway. 

Northampton - Just behind Hampton Gardens (near IGA).

Onslow  - Cameron Avenue, no charge

Pinjarra – In front of Visitor Information Centre, Pinjarra Williams Road.

Port Hedland - At Racecourse free camp, near entrance to the free camping area

Regan’s Ford – On Brand Highway, Shire of Dandaragan.  Limited hours

Sandstone – at the Shire Caravan Park

Three Springs – Accessed from laneway behind Shire office at 132 Railway Road Three Springs. Water provided. 
Tom Price - Tom Price Tourist Park for a fee of $3. Nanutarra Munjina Road has two Main Roads 24 hour rest areas with dump points

Trayning – Dump point at carvan park - free

Wagin – At Show Grounds and at Shire Caravan Park.

Westonia – Dump point now open, with non potable water carted to a tank for washdown only.   

York – Dump Point at Avon Park, Lowe Street, York
