in Australia are required to be able to call emergency services 000.
Police (Australia wide with the exception of Victoria) 131444. Note that this number cannot be called from phone on an international
network. When in Victoria call 000, directory assistance for the number of the nearest Police Station, or phone Victorian
Police Switchboard on (03) 9247 6666 Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.
SES (State Emergency Service) Australia wide 132500. State Emergency Services (SES) are an Australian volunteer organisation
that provides emergency help during and after (natural or otherwise) disasters. Note that this number cannot be called from phone
on an international network. The SES is also the primary or secondary agency for minor daily emergencies, such as storm damage,
building damage, traffic hazards and road crash rescue. In other scenarios the SES may provide a support role to other agencies, particularly
police and fire, and be involved in search and rescue operations.
