These pages will
feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified. If you
are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
Information given for each species
will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and
the areas it occurs in. Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

sandplains.

Cassytha glabella, Tangled Dodder Laurel
A small parasitic perennial climber. Found on Astartea, Casuarina, Cephalotus, Melaleuca
and other plants. Tiny round white flowers. Note suckers on dodder wrapped around the plant stem in photo above right.

A small parasitic perennial climber. Tiny round yellow or cream flowers.

Calytrix purpurea
Purple star flower with yellow stamens and a yellow centre to red stamens form a red centre, probably according
to fertilisation, creating a colourful display. Small shrub has short narrow foliage
September, and can flower through to
December.
Kalbarri, Western Australia and has been found in limited areas within the Carnamah, Chapman Valley, Mingenew, Northampton
and shires.
