These pages will
feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified. If you
are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
Information given for each species
will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and
the areas it occurs in. Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

Gompholobium preissii
From a very small plant with fine needle like fans of leaves and black buds, these very tiny orange peas
flowers of up to one centimetre emerge in early summer. Hairy leaves and buds

Bridgetown, South West Region, Western
Australia and found around Perth and ito the Wheatbelt as far north as Leeman, throughout the South West and Great Southern regions
Gompholobium tomentosum, hairy yellow pea
Very small sized pale yellow single pea flowers of up to one centimetre on a small shrub
with light coloured needle shaped leaves and a hairy seed base
Late Spring, Early Summer. Also seen flowering in March following
summer rain.
Bridgetown, South West Region, Western Australia, and it can be found in areas through the Gascoyne, Mid West, Wheatbelt,
Great Southern regions, ranging from Shark Bay to Esperance
Gompholobium scabrum, Painted Lady (formerly Burtonia scabrum)
A large mauve pea with a pink keel on a small shrub with small
narrow leaves

Near Munglinup, Western Australia, and found from the coastal areas north of Perth and around the coast
to Esperance and further east, and through the South West and Great Southern Regions south west of a line between Perth and Esperance.
