These pages will
feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified. If you
are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
Information given for each species
will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and
the areas it occurs in. Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

Above Bridgetown, South West Region, Western Australia
Above right Lancelin, and found from Geraldton to Esperance
around the coast, and scattered through the Mid West, Wheatbelt, and South West regions with scattered occurences further
inland
Stackhousia muricata Yellow Stackhousia
Bright yellow four slender petalled flower along upright yellow-green stems with multiple
stems per plant.
Spring
Mullewa and found through the Mid West, Gascoyne, Pilbara, Goldfields and inland desert regions

Tripterococcus brunonis
Sphaerolobium medium (member of the large Pea family Fabaceae)
Yellow pea flowers with red centres, along slender stems from a small
bush. Flecked sepals ar rear of flowers. Also occurs with orange flowers. Seed pods forming as the flowers fade in

Bridgetown, South West region, Western Australia and through the South West, Great Southern and parts of the
Wheatbelt including along the coast from Cervantes to Albany, with scattered occurrences around the coast to Esperance
Sphaerolobium vimineum, Leafless Globe Pea
Orange pea flowers with bright yellow centres, along slender stems from a small
bush. Flecked sepals at rear of flowers. Sphaerolobium can also have orange flowers, but with the yellow flower centres, I have
placed this as Sphaerolobium vimineum.
September
Cordering, Wheatbelt region, Western Australia and occurs around Perth, parts
of the South West and lower Great Southern region, and around coastal Esperance
Spyridium globulosum, Basket Bush
A large shrub with shiny oval leaves around five centimetres long. Tight clusters of tiny white
waxy looking flowers can appear in winter or spring. Flowers photographed here have withered (as seen in March).
June
to November
Albany, Great Southern region, and occurs in coastal sand and limestone from Shark Bay to Cocklebiddy.
